Dawn of Ouroboros has created a masterpiece of modern metal.
I've been following their progress from the first release, and with each, their growth has exponentially improved. And this is only their third album!
This is a must hear.

Roland All killer no filler!! Not only to DoO understand how to skillfully fuse Progressive Death Metal with Black Metal, but they also manage to sprinkle in elements of other genres (jazz, ambient etc) without it feeling forced or becoming a cluttered mess.
I'd like to particularly point out how much Chelsea has stepped up her game once again. Her harsh vocals sound fiercer than ever and her dreamy cleans never sounded so beautiful. Fantastic album from start to finish! Favorite track: Nebulae.

The first album is already a very good one, but the second is even better! It contains again nature black metal, quite melodic, but also wild, with some folkloristic elements, full of atmosphere and performed with passion. For me, BLACKBRAID fits well into the same category as other epic one man bands like Saor, Ruadh or Pure Wrath. Besides the catchy and quite straight opener "The Spirit returns", I mention the mightiest track "Moss covered Bones on the Altar of the Moon" as my favourite song! H.L.

What I like the most about this album is that it seems to be more riff-oriented and memorable compared to their earlier albums which were chock-full of crazy dissonant riffage but their songs often meandered or lacked any distinct progression. That is not to say that this this album is any less dense, but is certainly a little catchier, here and there. As always with Ulcerate, their music rewards repeated listening while clearly retaining the tragic, emotional feeling the band is known for. Lefteris Kefalas

Everything comes together extremely well in this album. Probably my all time favorite black metal album now. The mix of atmospheric almost shoegaze playing leads extremely well into the intensity black metal normally has. The saxophone they use on almost all the songs really puts it above others in the genre for me. DevilsKnock
