I’m a huge nerd and knew I would love this album simply from the name of the band. Shai-Hulud was the first track I heard and it remains my favorite, its deep and droning sound is just fucken awesome. Complete Obliteration comes in at a close second for the favorites. As a few others have pointed out here, this album has a lot of old school doom metal flavor in its crushing, heavy guitar work (early Sabbath, Pentagram, Trouble, etc.). Add some swords & sorcery flair and you've got something special. While not as bombastic or epic as the likes of Candlemass or Smoulder, this tickles the brain of those who enjoy that old school late 70s/early 80s metal sound. caffeinatedmetalhead
